Professor Ramaprasad has been a faculty member at the University of Maryland since 2019 and became the Faculty Director for the Interdisciplinary Business Honors (IBH) Program in March 2024.
Professor Ramaprasad’s research examines interactions on online platforms and their impact from multiple perspectives. Specifically, she studies the impact of platform features and social influence – measured by social media activity, social buzz, and social network characteristics – on user participation, interaction, consumption, and payment in online music and online dating platforms.
Prior to joining UMD, she was an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University in Montreal, QC. She received her doctorate in Management, Information Systems from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. She holds a B.S. from the University of Southern California.

Liz has been a staff member at the University of Maryland since 2009. She first joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and helped recruit talented students to the University of Maryland, including involvement with the Honors College and Banneker/Key Scholarship selection processes. In 2013 Liz moved to the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students (ACES) Honors Program, where she designed co-curricular, experiential learning opportunities, and helped build an outstanding living-learning program within the University of Maryland Honors College. In 2018 she joined the Clark School of Engineering to lead the Clark Foundation Scholarship Programs, including the A. James Clark Scholars Program, the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation’s signature academic program.
Liz has an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Columbia University and a B.A. in French Language, Literature, and Culture along with a University Honors Program Citation from the University of Maryland.
Jillian Cordial, M.A.

Jillian Cordial started her career in higher education working as a coordinator for a first year experience program at the University of Cincinnati. At the University of Maryland, she previously worked as Program Manager for Carillon Communities, a living-learning program, where she taught the Carillon Studio course, supported other Carillon Studio course instructors, advised students, and supported day-to-day programmatic needs. While at Carillon, Jillian led the inaugural Carillon Community Council and curated programs and events to further develop community amongst Carillon students.
Jillian has an M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.A. in Political Science along with a Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor, a Legal Studies certificate, and a University Honors designation from the University of Cincinnati.
